The 5-Minute Rule

You need to be ready for potential viewings of your home at any time as allowing flexibility for the Estate Agent with viewing times can make a big difference when it comes to selling your property efficiently. Make sure that any clutter around your house, whilst it’s on the market, can be cleaned within 5 minutes.

It may be worth having a “Viewings Box” – A box that you can throw items in to tidy up quickly and then put in a cupboard out of sight during the viewings.

Focus on the Kitchen and the Bathroom

The bathroom and the kitchen are two key areas of the house, and can be two of your biggest selling points. Make sure you wipe down any surfaces before someone comes and looks around your house. Whatever you do, make sure that you don’t leave any dishes in the sink!

Take Out the Rubbish

Rubbish is messy, smells, and is an eyesore! If your Estate Agent rings you and tells you that they have someone that wants to look around your house one of the first things that you should do is take out the rubbish.

Pick Up Toys & Remove Clutter

If you have children you should make sure any toys are put away before anyone comes and looks around your house. Clean up magazines, letters and other piles of clutter too. Potential buyers like to be able to see space and envisage themselves living in the property, clearing up everyday items can help with this.
