The Foxwood Residents Association has announced that Mr Russell Stone of Foxwood Lane is the winner of the 2026 Garden of the Year contest. He received his trophy and £100 cash prize earlier today from Simon Cartwright of Indigo Greens Estate Agents, the contest sponsors.
Russell’s garden features Begonias Lobella, Petunias, Impatiens (Busy Lizzies), Marigolds, evergreen shrubs and a gnome!
Judges praised the garden for “bringing a burst of colour and character to Foxwood Lane” and commended the high standard of entries despite this year’s unpredictable weather.
Simon Cartwright, Indigo Greens: “A well kept garden doesn’t just lift a street, it lifts everyone’s spirits. Colourful front gardens like Russell’s make Foxwood feel even more welcoming. We’d like to thank all the entrants for their hard work and look forward to seeing even more colour next summer.”

The annual contest, launched over a decade ago, forms part of the Association’s ongoing campaign to brighten up the local neighbourhood. The group has distributed wildflower seeds to residents and sown new patches in hedgerows, creating spectacular displays of colour across several streets.
Residents also organise monthly clean-up sessions to keep the area tidy.
